What we store
When you finish the assessment we store your nine scores, your 63 answers, the language you took the test in, how long it took, the time, and a random identifier that forms your result link. If you answer the two optional questions at the end, we also store your age range and gender. We do not store your name, your email or an account, because there are none. We look at the answers only in aggregate, to check and improve the statements.
In your browser
While you take the test, your answers are kept in your browser's local storage so you can pause and continue. They are removed when you submit, and you can remove them at any time with "Clear my answers and start over". After you submit, the browser also keeps a small secret key for your result; it is what lets you delete that result later. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your result link
A result can be opened by anyone who has its link. The identifier is random and cannot be guessed in practice, but treat the link as private and share it only with people you trust.
Share cards
From the result page you can make a share card: a public page with your chart and your leading style. The link to a card contains your nine scores, written as a short code, and nothing else: not the identifier of your result and not your answers. We store nothing when a card is made or opened, so there is nothing for us to delete, and a card link keeps working after the result is deleted. When you send a card through a messaging app, that app receives the link.
Keeping and deleting results
Results are kept until they are deleted, and we may remove old results in the future. In the browser where you took the test, the result page has a "Delete this result" button. It removes the result, the answers and everything else stored with it from our database for good. From another browser or device this is not possible, because nothing else proves that the result is yours.
Hosting
The site runs on Vercel and results are stored in a Neon Postgres database. Like any web host, these providers process technical data such as IP addresses in their server logs.
Visit statistics and error reports
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across sites; we see totals such as pages viewed, country, device type and the site a visitor came from. When something breaks, a technical error report is sent to Sentry, an error-monitoring service. Neither receives your answers or your scores: the identifier in a result link and the code in a card link are removed before anything is sent. We also keep our own daily totals, per language, of how often the test is started, how far into it people get, how often it is finished, and how often the buttons for sharing or copying a link are used, along with the kind of page a visit began on, such as the home page or a share card. These totals are not linked to you or to your result, and nothing is stored in your browser for them.
